HEALING FROM WORDS THAT WOUND

It's Therapy Thursday

Today I accomplished something that I worked long and hard for and I know God wanted it for me too. This accomplishment shatters the false-negative words that one of my 3rd-grade teacher said. (I can't share that accomplishment just yet lol)

When I was in the 3rd grade, one of my teachers told me in so many words and by her actions that I wouldn't amount to anything. Maybe that's why I work so hard, trying to prove her wrong. Her words took root in my young heart and I stopped functioning in her class.

That same teacher told my mom that I couldn't read....wrong again! My mom said, come over to our house and bring a book with you for my daughter to read. (prove your doubters wrong) As the teacher entered our home, my mom looked over at me, winked her eye, and gave me the OK sign! I grabbed the book and proceeded to read!! My teacher's eyes got so big, "Mrs. Taylor, I don't know what to say; she wouldn't read like that in my class."

Now anyone that knew my mom, you know the rest of this story lol..... Again my mom winked her eye at me and gave me the OK sign which meant, you can do it, don't fear, don't allow people or environments to intimidate you. I want to say that where ever you have allowed rejection and fear to dominate your life, it is time to be released from it all. Just like mom I am winking at you today and giving you the OK sign to be free, speak freely!

Be free from the words and works of rejection!!!

Three ways to Break Free from words that wound:

1. Give yourself time before you speak your mind; it is OK.

2. Permit yourself to walk away from the thinking that holds you back; it is OK.

3. Give yourself permission to get up and get out of that situation; it is OK.

5. Stop regressing by doing all that reframing! Be confident in what God is saying and doing in you!

6. Don't allow anyone to project their "stuff" into your life.

7. Always Pray
